Men for Missions

Men for Missions meets one Saturday each month at 8:30 a.m. for a time of breakfast, fellowship, prayer, and an update on our missionaries. Group work projects are planned, and details on how you can minister are given at each meeting.
A recent trip was to Okinawa, Japan to construct cabins (2) at the Okinawa Bible Camp. This camp was started in 1999 through the efforts of Missionary Dan Gardner. Dan has been in Japan for almost 23 years. The camp's philosophy is modeled after the WILDS'. He has worked with Camps Abroad to get started in a good direction. The primary ministry of the camp is to military families and teens stationed on the island of Okinawa. There are also some weeks that focus only on Japanese families. Over 150 people attended in 2003. With the addtion of the two cabins constructed during our 10 day project, the capability of the camp has been doubled. The staff has the ability to minister to 85 teens each week. Plans include having camp for 5 weeks next year. There will also be various weekend retreats for both military and Japanese families.
