Matt was born into a church going family but at the age of 13 his mother had been married three times. This meant that Matt grew up going to several different types of churches and therefore thought he was a Christian. At the age of 17, the Gospel was presented to Matt at a Bible preaching church in East Tennessee. He was saved shortly thereafter and within a couple months the Lord called him to full time missions work.
     Courtney grew up in a pastor’s home and trusted in Christ as a very young child at the age of 3. She grew up telling her family she was going to go to Bob Jones University, major in Christian Missions and meet her husband there. Even though Matt wasn’t exactly what she had in mind, they were married shortly after college. After a few years in seminary at Heart of America Theological Seminary, the Lord called them to the country of Thailand where they have lived for about 15 months now.
