I’ve been thinking about “with all your strength”. I can DO things for the Lord. Mowing the yard, taking card of my stuff, even putting away laundry; all that can be done with God’s glory in mind. Do I love Him while I work?

I like the part that says…. “You SHALL love the Lord your God with all your heart”. I know that sometimes I do things half heartedly …. just to know that I should love the Lord with my whole heart…is a challenge to me!!!

I’ve been thinking on how when we love the Lord with all our heart it leads to our attitude & actions being correct and pointing others toward our ONE true God. Which should cause me to be boldly sharing what I’m learning from the Bible all the time.

My interpretation of this verse is that we sometimes tend to compartmentalize areas in our mind and say “I’ll love God with 90% of my mind, but I have to leave room for other things (hobbies, family, friends etc.).” I think it’s telling us to love God through all activities. Love God through my family, my friends, and my hobbies. Even love God through trials.

I think the verse is a good reminder to love God with the right motive(heart) the right attitude(soul) and to do this in ALL diligence. I feel like the last part is where I tend to compromise. It reminds me that there are no in-betweens concerning how I should love God. I can either love Him whole-heartedly or not at all.
