Numbers 32:23

Category : Uncategorized

Numbers 32:23 – But if you do not do so, then take note, you have sinned against the LORD, and be sure your sin will find you out.

Moses is admonishing a portion of Israel to pay their promise in full.

When we sin, and going back on our obligations counts; that sin is actively trying to destroy your whole life.  Don’t let it happen, avoid sin by focusing on your Redeemer.

Day 4: Talked with several of you at church, but no one signed my paper!  Gotta find a Sponsor quick!!!

Day 5: Connected with a friend from many years ago, Troy H, and got him to sign my card!  Very excited to see several of you at the AIG sessions this morning.  Don’t forget about the last two sessions tonight at 6:30 and 8pm.

As you can see, I forgot to get my signature yesterday… I did talk with Daniel, and will ask him to initial it tonight for yesterday 🙂

Day 6: Can you believe that I’ve talked with three people about our verse today, and I didn’t get one of them to sign it!  Ugh…  Well, I’ll go find a fourth before the day is over.

Alright, the reason you opened the blog: How can I love?

Deuteronomy 6:4-5 sets forth the Prime Directive for God’s Children: Love God!  This talking about how you feel, what you think, and what you do! (see verse 5).  Love can be a very tricky word to use and even harder to identify in others, so how are you supposed to love God is invisible?

In verses 6-13 the Lord lays out two Things to do, two tasks to work on, two job to execute.  As you do these two things, everyone will know you love, and that you love God the mostest!

  1. Teach God’s Word 6-9
    • Know what God has said so well, that you can teach it to others
    • Know what God has said so well, that your family believes you
  2. Remember God’s Works 10-13
    • Remember when God did what He promised
    • Remember when God did more that what He promised
    • Remember when God gave you redemption

If you love, and love God first, we’ll know by Who you talk about and What you say.

Looking forward to seeing everyone for the AIG conference this weekend (Sunday/Monday).  Try to make it to the Monday day sessions, you won’t regret it! (what’s a little make up homework, right?)

How to defend against sin?

Category : Uncategorized

Here is a brief summary from the lesson last night.  In the day’s ahead TCYG will be memorizing scriptures to help us defend against sin!

Psalms 119:9-11 teaches us that the most excellent defense against sin is internalizing God’s Word!

1)Defeating Past Sins

When you give your attention to God’s Word, it will reveal sin in your life that needs to be dealt with.

2) Defeating Future Sins

When you meditate of God’s Word, it will keep you from desiring after sin.

3) Defending Present Righteousness

When you value God’s Word, sin will no longer be worth the cost.

Most Excellent Martial Art

Category : Church , Preview

What’s the best way to defend yourself?  Should you…

How about escalating?

Sometimes neither… So if the time comes when you cannot run away and you should not escalate, then you are told to defend yourself as best as you can. Martial Arts grew out of this need to be able to defend.  Thousands of Arts with tens of thousands of moves all proclaim to be “the best”.  But what it boils down to is this: what you face determines how to defend yourself best.  The most excellent martial art is then: forever variable!

Speaking of defense… What is the best way to defend against sin?

Read Psalm 119:9-11 and come find out tonight!
